With nearly a decade of experience, I specialise in providing advice and assisting clients in a wide range of family law matters.
Family Law includes advice in all aspects of separation, whether that's in relation to parenting arrangements, guardianship matters, family violence, paternity, dissolution, relationship property or spousal maintenance.
I also advise on and assist clients with the creation and execution of Contracting Out Agreements.
I am an experienced Family Lawyer.
I have practised exclusively within this area since being admitted to the bar in 2012.
I started my career working at a law firm in West Auckland.
After spending 4 years at that firm, I moved on to work in a larger firm, where I was based primarily in Albany.
I remained employed at that second firm for the following six years.
During a period of parental leave in 2022, I decided to step out as a Barrister and commenced my practice in March 2023.
As a Family Law practitioner, I pride myself on being responsive, fair and pragmatic.
I will be honest with you about the challenges you are facing.
I will develop plans with you for how those challenges are going to be solved.
Whether that means negotiating an issue on your behalf, instructing other professionals like Accountants or Psychologists for advice, or going straight to Court.
When it comes to resolving matters, I will give you sound advice about the best avenue for you.
If Court is necessary, then of course, that will be what I will recommend and I will advocate your position steadfastly.
However, if there is another more suitable avenue, then I will explore that with you instead.
Very often, keeping disputes out of the Court arena can see resolution reached in a swifter, more cost efficient and friendly manner.
For those wanting to minimise the stress associated with separation, I am also trained as a collaborative advocate.
I practice all over Auckland, but mostly take instructions on the North Shore, Waitakere and Auckland Central.
I am a member of the New Zealand Law Society, Family Law Section, Collaborative Resolution New Zealand, Auckland District Law Society, and the New Zealand Bar Association.
I am also a Family Law Legal Aid provider.
